Spots and stripes - camouflage art
Evolve patterns that can hide creatures in their habitat
Here, you can evolve the kinds of spots and stripes that animals have on their skin to blend into their habitat. You can use the patterns you make to hide some cartoon animals.
Camouflage helps animals to hide from prey - and the better an animal is at avoiding getting eaten, the more likely it will survive long enough to reproduce....[MORE INFO HERE]
In this artwork, you're going to create a group of random patterns, using some very simple pattern-makers. You want these patterns to hide some cartoon animals. You'll judge how well each pattern does this (you can choose to try this by hand or let the computer judge it automatically). Then you'll breed a new set of patterns from the ones that are best at the job.
If you do this many thousands over times over (which your computer should do very quickly), you'll be able to breed great patterns for the job.
What kind of camouflage would you like to create today?
stripes (like a zebra)
spots (like a leopard)
